Melania and Erick, the new stars of UNAM Chicago

Melania Ávila Millán is a student pursuing a degree in Administration at the School of Accounting and Administration, and studied subjects focused on the area of ​​Marketin

“When I saw the call from the Office ofInternational Cooperation (DGECI-UNAM) for the Program to Promote Degrees through Academic Activities Abroad, I decided to participate with a project whose objective was to develop a marketing strategy for this branch."

Her stay has not only enriched her as a professional, but also UNAM Chicago. “Creativity and imagination are two fundamental elements in advertising and marketing,” says Melania, but in addition to this she has contributed with the solid knowledge that her career provided her, with her innovative approach and with her committed university attitude.

This experience has allowed me not only to travel but to learn and be able to finish my degree successfully. “I am very grateful to UNAM Chicago,” Melania concluded.

For his part, Erick Acuña Monroy studied engineering in telecommunications, systems and electronics at the Cuautitlán School of Higher Studies and is also doing his professional internship for graduation purposes at UNAM Chicago.

Erick has also contributed with creativity and commitment the knowledge that his career gave him and which has been very valuable.

“I am currently focusing on my degree project which covers the migration of the UNAM Chicago website to a new server, as well as support in resolving technical problems.”

For him, his stay has been very enriching not only on a professional level but also on a personal level because “Chicago is a city with thousands of activities and places to visit, from the first days I have tried to make the most of the free time I have to be able to to know them all, and to have experiences that without this program I would never have achieved.”

The Program to Promote Degrees through Academic Activities Abroad is, without a doubt, one of the great tools that UNAM offers its students so that they can enrich their professional lives with unique experiences.
