The Rincón Cultura UNAM opens at the Consulate in Milwaukee, WI.

Thanks to UNAM Chicago's outreach work with the Mexican and Latino community living in the United States, the fourth Rincón de Descarga Cultura UNAM was inaugurated, this time at the Mexican Consulate in Milwaukee in the state of Wisconsin, United States.

In a tutorial on how to access the site, Erika Erdely, academic secretary of UNAM Chicago, conducted a simplified search for content, where the audience could listen to a few minutes of the vast content of this platform that offers poetry, theater, music, lectures by great teachers of UNAM, science capsules and much more to listen online or download.

On behalf of the Consul of Mexico in Milwaukee, WI, Claudia Franco Hijuelos, the Deputy Consul, Karina Blas Rodríguez, expressed her gratitude for bringing culture to the community, and reiterated her commitment to continue collaborating with UNAM Chicago.

It is worth mentioning that access to the site cultura.unam will be disseminated through the mobile consulates and community events in Chicago and throughout the state of Wisconsin in general.

The Rincón CulturaUNAM model has worked for several years to bring the contents of Descarga Cultura.UNAM to Spanish-speaking communities and foreigners interested in the languages spoken in Mexico. These are physical spaces that have been installed in universities, cultural centers, consulates and embassies around the world.

The works of Mexican and universal authors such as Ángeles Matstretta, Carlos Fuentes, Elena Poniatowska, Octavio Paz, Noam Chomsky, Alí Chumacero, Eduardo Galeano, José Emilio Pacheco, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Jasmine Barrera, among many others, make up the works of this unique collection.

To date, UNAM Chicago has managed the opening of these spaces, in addition to the recent one at the Milwaukee Consulate, at its own headquarters, at the Mexican Consulate in Chicago, and at Agustine College.
