Convened by the Mexican Consulate, UNAM Chicago participated in a meeting with the Global Talent Network, Chicago chapter, on Friday, February 18. The General Mission of the Talent Network is to help highly qualified Mexicans who reside abroad and are linked to businesses or sectors that generate high added value and can contribute to a better insertion of Mexico in the global economy which is also known as a knowledge economy.
Ambassador Reyna Torres, Consul General of Mexico in Chicago, highlighted the continuous partnership it has with UNAM. On behalf of UNAM Chicago, Erika Erdely reiterated UNAM's willingness to liaise with academics and researchers from our University to participate in the various webinars organized by the Consulate in collaboration with the Talent Network. Likewise, the Rincón UNAM (UNAM’s culture Corner) was made available to the members of the network to be installed in libraries, cultural centers, consular spaces, and secondary and higher education institutions. After all, one of the lines of the Network's work plan for 2022 has to do with the promotion of reading and development of the Spanish language. Other efforts to support migrant communities that UNAM has carried out were also mentioned, such as courses for business entrepreneurs, leadership workshops, among others.
